Ervin Scofield

Ervin Scofield, 75, of Lake McConaughy and former longtime Ogallala resident, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Indian Hills Healthcare Community.

Ervin was born October 22, 1941, in Alliance, NE, the son of Aaron and Violet (Cramblet) Scofield. The family moved to Ogallala in 1951.

After graduating from Ogallala High School in 1959 he was employed at Goodalls which later became Arnold Engineering.  Ervin retired in 2007.

Ervin was united in marriage to Marjorie J. Snare on February 18, 1961, in North Platte. The couple made their home in Ogallala.

Ervin volunteered and loved coaching baseball in Ogallala for 25 years. He loved spending time with all his family, his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. His hobbies included fishing, and watching Nebraska football and Dodger baseball.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother Kenneth Scofield.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie Scofield of Lake McConaughy, his children: Lori Scofield of Des Moines, IA; Denise (Kirk) Armstrong of Elkhorn, NE; and Mark Scofield of Johnstown, CO; one sister Sandi (Loren) Meyers of Boone, IA and one brother Marvin Scofield of Ogallala.

Ten grandchildren: Kylie (Joe) LaCour of Bellevue, NE; Alissa (Mike) Hays of Council Bluffs, IA; Tori (Justin) Beachy of Kearney, Leah (Ted) Armstrong of Lincoln, Morgan Scofield of Loveland CO; Madison Scofield of Fort Collins, CO; Markenzie Scofield of Johnstown, CO; Tegan Musser and Tristan Torres, both of Boone, IA; and Trey Price of Des Moines, IA; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family chose cremation. Private family services will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be sent by signing the Guest Book at www.drauckerfh.com Memorials have been established to the Keystone Lemoyne Fire Department and the Ogallala Baseball Association.
