Lois Jean (Frohloff) Filmer

Lois Jean Fillmer, 82, longtime Ogallala resident, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016, in her home.

Lois was born August 25, 1934 in Norfolk, NE, the daughter of Harold and Harriet (Dinges) Frohloff.

She graduated from Norfolk Senior High School in 1952 and from Norfolk Junior College in 1954 with an Associate of Arts degree. During high school and college days she was employed at F W Woolworth Store in Norfolk. Lois taught school for three years at Zion Lutheran School in Pierce, Nebr.

On December 31, 1956 Lois was united in marriage to Leonard L. Fillmer. The couple resided in York and Norfolk. They moved to Ogallala in 1977. Lois was employed at Gibsons Store and later at JC Penney Retail Store and for the Catalog Store.

Lois was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son Leonard L. Fillmer Jr., mother-in-law Amy Fillmer and father-in-law Anton Fillmer, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Lloyd and Alice Messerly, and an infant brother.

Survivors include her children: Lynette (Peter) Sukup of Lincoln and Lon Fillmer of Ogallala; one brother John (Marilyn) Frohloff of Omaha; four grandchildren: Scott (Jessica) Sukup, Greg (Kim) Sukup, James (Sarah) Sukup, and Shalee Fillmer; two great-grandsons: Hunter and Garrett; and several nieces and nephews.

The family chose cremation. The Memorial Service will be Thursday, Dec. 1, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ogallala St. Pauls Lutheran Church with Rev. John Stubenrouch officiating.

A memorial has been established to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Online Condolences may be sent by signing the Guest Book.  The Service will be live streamed, for those unable to attend.

An additional memorial service will be on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m. in the Home for Funerals of Norfolk, NE.   Burial of the urn will follow in the Stanton Cemetery.
