Nancy Jo (Pettett) Graff

February 4, 1950 ~ January 5, 2018 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Nancy Jo Graff of Ogallala, Nebraska, entered into heaven on January 5, 2018, after a fierce battle with cancer.

Nancy was born February 4, 1950 in Lincoln Nebraska to Deane and Beth (Uehling) Pettett. She graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1968. She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she obtained her Bachelors degree and Masters in Speech Language Pathology. She was also a member of Chi Omega Sorority.

She married Chuck Graff on May 26, 1973. Together they moved from coast to coast pursuing their joint-partnership in cattle and raising their three daughters. During this time, they lived in Nebraska, Colorado, California, and Florida before moving to Ogallala, Nebraska in 1984.

Nancy was a Speech Therapist for 44 years. She served the communities of Ogallala, Grant, and Julesburg over the years. She loved helping others find a way to return to the normalcy of life. Nancy was also a key partner with her husband in Graff Cattle raising Registered Angus, Gelbvieh, and composite cattle, selling bulls, and showing seedstock cattle across the country.

Her family was the joy and pride of her life. She was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church serving on multiple committees, Sunday School, Bible School, and ushering.

She was instrumental in the Ogallala Outdoor Pool Project. She was a past Honored Queen of Job’s Daughters Bethel #45 and served on the Ogallala Job’s Daughters Council for many years. She was a member of PEO, Extension Club, Nebraska Cattlewomen’s Association and was a Girl Scout Leader and a 4-H Leader.

Survivors include her husband, Chuck; three daughters: Jennifer Graff (husband Michael Hauser) of Kensington, MD, Amy (Trevor) Dam of Arthur, Brenda (Dan) Waters of Omaha; 7 grandchildren: Colby Hauser; Ella and Hailey Dam; Maddie, Lucy, Charlotte, and Will Waters; brother: Gary (Ginny) Pettett; mother-in-law: Evelyn Graff; and multiple friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law Curtis Graff.

Memorial Services will be held at 10 am MST on Saturday January 13, 2018 in the Ogallala First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Chuck Rager officiating. The service will be live streamed from www.methodistchurchogallala.com., for those unable to attend.  Inurnment will follow in the Ogallala Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church, the Callahan Cancer Center, and the Ogallala Hospital Authority Board.  Please make the Memorial contribution out to the entity of your choice but mail checks to Chuck Graff at 550 Fox Hill Road, Ogallala, NE  69153.
