Peggy L. Pulliam, 87, of Grant, died Monday, January 9, 2017, in Golden Ours Convalescent Home.

Peggy Louise Pulliam was born to John H. and Myrtle A. (Martin) Prather on November 13, 1929, in Cushing, Oklahoma. She was the second youngest of seven children.

At the age of sixteen Peggy married James W. Young, also of Oklahoma. Together they had three children, Marklyn who died in infancy, Brenda Kay and Gregory Albert Young.

Peggy and her children moved to Nebraska where she met and married Charles C. Cady. The couple lived the majority of their lives in the countryside of Sidney.

In 1986 Charles and Peggy made the move to Ogallala to enjoy their retirement and grandchildren. Charles passed away in 1996.

In 1997 Peggy married her lifelong friend Cletus R. Pulliam and returned to her home state of Oklahoma where they resided until Cletus' death in 2001. Peggy decided to return to Nebraska in 2003 to live closer to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent the remainder of her days, loving and caring for her family and friend in Nebraska.

Preceding her in death was her daughter Marklyn, her husbands, and her siblings: Carmaleta Shannon, Floyd Prather, Kenneth Prather, Douglas Prather and Maxiel Prather.

Survivors include her children Gregory Young of Doniphan and Brenda (George) Edmonds of Ogallala, one sister Rosezetta Adams of Sidney; her grandchildren: Tregg and Erin Young of Highlands Ranch, CO., Marklyn and Dan McGinnis of Ogallala, Kacey and Brett Petit of Lincoln, Michael Young and Megan Vogel of Aurora, and Tyler Young and Josie Hinjos of Doniphan; and several nieces and nephews. Her legacy carries on in her twelve great-grandchildren.
