James William Covalt

James W. Covalt, age 45, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at his home south of Paxton, NE.

James was born in Alliance, NE on May 3, 1974, to Landon Covalt and Lyn Billes (Covalt).

James attended Alliance High School and stayed around the area until he moved to Arthur, NE where he worked on the Peterson Ranch. He then moved to Lamont, Oklahoma where he spent time with family before returning to Nebraska. Upon returning to Nebraska, James moved to Paxton where he worked for Peterson Land & Cattle Co. south of Paxton. James cared for his family deeply and enjoyed the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. James lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing, dancing, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his father Landon Covalt and sister Alaina Covalt.

James is survived by his mother, Lyn Billes, of Hemingford, NE; his step-mother, Irene Covalt, of Garden City, KS; 3 sons, Nick and Chris O’Neill, both of Omaha, NE; Jason Ryytty of Torrington, WY; 2 daughters, Teonna Fritzler of Gering, NE; Kady Covalt of Lemoore Station, CA; 2 brothers, Lonnie (Sue) Covalt of Scottsbluff, NE; Ryan (Penny) Covalt of Sheridan, WY; 1 sister, Sherry Covalt, of Alliance, NE; grandmother, Claudia Watts of Alliance, NE; as well as his 10 grandchildren.

The Celebration Of Life for James will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Starr Street Diner in Broadwater, NE.
