Linda Louise Phillips, age 67, of Arthur, Nebraska, passed away on August 9, 2018 at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
Linda was born May 24, 1951 at Walla Walla, Washington to Raymond Virgil and Emily Louise Braden Trapp.
She grew up and attended school in Walla Walla and graduated from high school there in 1969. She then attended Washington State and graduated with a BS in Fashion Design in 1973. She moved to Portland, OR, where she worked for various businesses in accounting.
Linda was visiting family and friends in Arthur in 1990 when she met Mick Phillips, whom she married on November 30, 1991 at the Lake Grove Presbyterian Church in Lake Oswego, OR. They had a second ceremony December 28, 1991, at the Arthur Baptist Church in Arthur, NE. They made their home on the ranch north-east of Arthur.
Linda and Mick were Secretary-Manager of the Nebraska Hereford Association from 1992 to 1997. Linda enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was part of a small group called the Busy Bees, who made smaller charity quilts. The ladies would often make 80 quilts a year for charity. Linda loved kids and led the church nursery for several years.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Louise; in-laws Jess and Goodrun Phillips and nephews Rick Summers and Kevin Summers.
Linda is survived by her husband Mick; sister Debby and husband Lynn Roehm of Baker City, OR; Sister in Laws Whanda Collins of Broadwater, NE. and Caroldene Summers of Mullen, NE brother-in-law Rennie and wife Marge Phillips of Scott City, MO; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Arthur Baptist Church on Thursday, August 16th from 2:00-6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 17, at 2:00 pm at the Arthur Baptist Church with the Rev Blake Wilkes officiating. Burial will take place in Arthur Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Samaritans Purse-Christmas Shoe Boxes and may be mailed directly to Mick Phillips, 205 Phillips Dr. Arthur. NE 69121.
Online condolences may be sent by signing the Guest Book. The Services will be live streamed. Draucker Funeral Home of Ogallala is entrusted with arrangements.
