Phyllis Lavon Kinsman age 88 of Arthur passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at Linden Court in North Platte, NE.
She was born November 13, 1930 in Stapleton, NE to John and Mary (Reynolds) Messick. She spent her early childhood days in Stapleton where she attended school .
Phyllis married Robert (Bob) Kinsman on September 25, 1947 in North Platte, NE. They lived and worked on several ranches in Logan and Lincoln Counties. They also worked on the George McGinley Ranch at Keystone, NE from 1954-1964. In 1964 they moved to the Schick Ranch in McPherson County. They resided there until 1969 when they moved to Arthur, NE. They owned and operated the Arthur Ranch Supply from 1969-1997. After selling the Ranch Supply she worked for Arthur County School as a Para-Educator. She enjoyed working in her yard, playing cards, dancing, and spending time with her family.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters Vickie (Corky) Kemp of North Platte, NE and Susan Johns of Cheyenne WY. Granddaughters Stacey (Mark) Trumbull of Ogallala, NE, Wendy (Kevin) Thomas of Kearney, NE, Kim (Michael) Wilson of Arthur and grandson Robbie Kemp of Grand Island, NE. 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister-in-laws Delores Daly and Sheilah Valentine both of Arthur; Aunts Arleta Benham of Sun City, Arizona and Pauline Haumont of Broken Bow, NE along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E."Bob" Kinsman in 2001, son Allen Kinsman in 1971 and her parents, John and Mary Messick.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 14th at 2:00 pm at the Arthur Baptist Church. Rev. Glendon Epp and Pastor Blake Wilkes officiating. Memorials are to the Arthur Hospitality Committee and the American Legion Auxiliary. Interment in the Arthur Cemetery.
