Robert "Bob" H. Riggs, age 87, of Ogallala, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019 at his home in Ogallala.
Bob was born November 19, 1931 to Robert and Edna (Halbert) Riggs in Chicago, IL.
After attending elementary school in Crystal, MI, Bob graduated from High School in Bartlesville, OK. He attended college at Oklahoma State University until he was drafted into the Army in 1953. He was stationed in Germany and was discharged May 31, 1955.
On November 11, 1953 Bob married Ellen Lucy Hodges in Bartlesville, OK. After Bob was discharged from the Army he returned to college at OSU, where he graduated in 1957 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. They moved to Houston, TX where he worked for various companies in Statistics and Data Processing. Their son Robert "Bobby" was born October 6, 1964, and the family moved to Denver, CO, where Bob went to work for Denver-Chicago Trucking Co. Where he worked as a Data Processing Manager.
Bob married Betty Jo Elta Mann Robinson in 1968 in Denver. Then Bob worked for Rockmont Envelope Co. as a Data Processing Manager. In 1970, Bob and Betty Jo moved to Parker, CO. After leaving Rockmont, he went to work for the IRS. He retired in September of 1997 and they moved to Keystone, NE. In the fall of 2012, they made their home in Ogallala. He loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, camping and boating.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and 1 nephew, Kelly Riggs.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Betty Jo; 1 son, Bobby (Faith) Riggs, of Colorado Springs, CO; 1 step-son, Dale Robinson, of Evans, CO; 1 step-daughter, Cherie (Gerald) Adams, of Broomfield, CO; 2 brothers, Rodger (Carol) Riggs, of Fulshear, TX; Ralph (Dana) Riggs, of Denver, CO; 3 grandsons, Robert J. Riggs, of Colorado Springs; Daniel (Sarah) Adams, of Lafayette, CO; Michael Marvel, of Arvada, CO; 2 granddaughters, Fallon and Tiernan Riggs, both of Perris, CA; 1 step-grandson, Gage Collins, of Littleton, CO; 1 great-granddaughter, Lily Adams; and 1 great-grandson, Joshua Adams, both of Broomfield, CO, 1 niece, 2 nephews, and many other relatives.
Cremation was chosen. Memorial Services with Military Honors from the Keith County Veterans Guard, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating.
The family suggests Contributions in his Memory be made to the Salvation Army in Ogallala.
