Ronald E. Hornbacher

Ronald E. Hornbacher 82, of North Platte formerly of Ogallala passed away October 1, 2018 at Great Plains Health in North Platte. 

He was born May 18, 1936 to Wilbert and Agatha (Rou) Hornbacher of Bayard, NE. He graduated from Scottsbluff High School. Ron went to work for Montgomery Wards where he started selling Appliances. Ron moved to Lexington, NE to work for Henekes Company selling Appliances. On October 17, 1966 he married Beverly J. Greeley in Lexington. Ron and Beverly moved to Ogallala in 1967 where they started Appliance City with Jim Lovercheck. Jim fixed the TV's and Ron sold the appliances. Ron and Beverly sold Appliance City in 2001 and retired to North Platte. Ron was a past member of the Ogallala Elks club and Keith County Chamber of Commerce and the Retail Business Association.

Ron is survived by his wife, Beverly, 1 son Scott (Theresa) Hornbacher of Thompston, GA, 3 daughters, Ronna (Tom) McEntee of Hastings, Shannon (Bob) Josjor of Ogallala, and Lori Hornbacher of North Platte. 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. One sister, Imogene Groskopf of Scottsbluff, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Mick, and a brother Harlan.

Services will be on Friday October 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ogallala New Hope Ministry at 118 East B. Pastor Jeremy Rinke of Harvest Christian Church of North Platte is officiating. 
Inurnment will be in the Ogallala Cemetary.  A memorial has been established in his memory. 
 

Services will be live streamed.   Condolences may be sent by signing the Guest Book.
