Dennis Dean Rohde, age 80 , of Ogallala, Nebraska, died on Thursday, January 19th, 2023 at the Imperial Manor in Imperial, NE.
Dennis was born March 5, 1942 in Alliance, NE to Otto and Elsie (Garskill) Rohde. He grew up in Alliance and attended school there.
Dennis joined the Army on September 13, 1957. He did basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Dennis was then transferred to the National Guards, where he served the remainder of his obligation. He was discharged April 28th, 1965.
Dennis married Aline Wenzel in 1960 in Alliance, NE. Afterwards they moved to Edgemont, South Dakota for the military. They returned to Nebraska, making their home around Alliance, until moving to Commerce City Colorado. Dennis went to work Rock Island Railroad. He then worked for Hadley Transport out of Denver, CO. Dennis retired from Hadley Transport in 1998. Dennis and Aline then moved to Otter Creek on the north side of Lake MacConaughy. They spent their later years in Ogallala.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Aline; two sons, Denny and Otto; a brother, Ed ; and two sisters, Getha Rohde and Jane Rohde .
Dennis is survived by, two sons; James Rohde of Ogallala, NE and Roger Rohde of Rock Springs, WY; daughter-in-law, Pam Rohde of Tampa, FL.
Visitation will be held at Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala on Friday, January 27th, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at Draucker Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 28th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Curt Magelky officiating.
Interment will be at the Ogallala Cemetery.
