Donald " Don" Lehl age 78, of Brule died Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant.
Don was born July 31, 1944, in North Platte, NE to Edward and Pauline (Brehm) Lehl. He grew up in Ogallala and attended Ogallala high school. He married Judy Griffiths on Dec. 26, 1964, in Brule at St. John's Lutheran Church. Don had many jobs including working at Safeway, Sixth Street, Culligan Water, and R and D construction with his father-in-law. Don went to work for Kiewit Construction while they were building the Hydro plant at Lake McConaughy. In 1986, he went to work for the Keith County Court House for 25 years and retired from there in 2011. He was a 20-year member of the Brule Lion's Club and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Brule. He lived in Ogallala and Brule all his life. Don enjoyed car shows, demolition derby, collected marbles and miniature cars. Don enjoyed spending time with his kids, Grandkids and Great Grandkids.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, Kenny and Ronald; sister, Mary Alice Lehl; parents-in-law, Rex and Fran Griffiths; and daughter-in-law, Kerry Lehl.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; two Sons, Tom Lehl, and Tracey Lehl, Two daughters Crystal and (Jeremey) Olson, and Cathy (Lynn) Miller; grandchildren, Brandon (Jasmine) Lehl, Bellamy (Travis) Handy, Kelsey (Zach) Eeckhout, Kiana (Special Friend Johnny Schweers) Scheele, Robert Leder, Josh Miller, Ashley (Leo) Schilz, Erika (Blayne) Richards, Madison (Armand) Pana, Sy (Special Friend Kalise) O' Neil; sisters-in-law Nancy Lehl, Jeanette Lehl, and Charlene, Joyce (Dan) Schulz, Jean (Terry) Timm, Jacque Schmer, brother-in-law Joe (Debbie) Griffiths; Great-Grandchildren Damion Miller, Lucian Miller, Melody O'Neil, Ryan O'Neil, Eli Eeckhout, Keaton Eeckhout, Mileena Handy, Ronie Handy, Lincoln Schweers, Jayden Schweers, baby Armand; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 23rd, 2022 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Brule, NE. Reverend Jon Dickmander will be officiating.
Inurnment will be at the Ogallala Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church of Brule or the Brule Fire Department.
