Donald R. Rose, 86, of Arthur, passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala, NE.
He was born on September 5, 1935 to William Fran and Martha Anna (Naeve) Rose at Julesburg, CO. He attended school in Alliance.
The family moved to Cogville, OR in 1951, and he graduated from Cogville High School in 1953.
Don then moved to Lakeside in the summer of 1953 and worked for Meyer Land and Cattle.
He married Dorothy Maxine Weinel at St. John's Lutheran Church in Alliance, May 8, 1955. To this union two sons were born, Dennis and Steve.
In 1963, they moved to Arthur, NE where they worked on the Sillassen Ranch until 1979.
Don then worked for Arthur County for a few years. He then worked part-time doing farm work for Adolph Holscher and Milford Kraweski in Keith County.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy. Two sons; Dennis and (Jolene) Rose of Arthur, Steve and (Cindy) Rose of Alliance;
two brothers, Dwayne (Grace) Rose of Alliance and Roy (Kathy) Rose of Independence, Missouri;
4 Grandsons, Heath Rose of Gillette, Wy. Ben (Jocelyn) Rose of Omaha, NE. Spencer (Jeana) Rose of Lincoln, NE and Hayes (special friend Jennifer Roberts) Rose of Arthur, NE one Granddaughter Becca ( Johnathon) Hebbard of Lincoln, NE and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; Harold, Fred and Bill; four sisters; Margaret Chamberlain, Margie Luchsinger, Doris Frank and Sharon Lawson.
The casket will not be open.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at the Arthur Baptist Church, with Pastor Blake Wilkes officiating.

Interment will be in the Arthur Cemetery.
