Obituary
Harold O. Clapp, 93, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska died Saturday, January 7th, 2023 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE.
Harold was born on August 7, 1929 in Arthur County Nebraska to Alford and Oneita (Smith) Clapp. He received his early education through the 8th grade in Arthur County at School District #1. Harold then attended the Ag school in Curtis for one year, and then returned to Ogallala where he graduated from Ogallala High School in 1948. Harold married Beth Ingram in 1948 and worked for First National Bank for two years. Beth and infant daughter Linda Rae preceded him in death on August 8, 1949. Harold returned to the family ranch in Arthur County. He started a livestock and grain trucking business while working on the ranch and rodeod in the PRCA calf roping and steer wrestling. He later became a professional bull fighter. In 1955 he married Lydian (Keller) Reitz at the Arthur Baptist Church. She brought to this family a son Ronald E. who Harold adopted. In 1955 they welcomed a son Steven to the family and in 1956 a daughter Cheri , then in 1958 a daughter Kathleen. In 1961 the family moved to Southern California where he began a trucking business. In 1965 Harold and Lydian were divorced. Harold and the kids returned to Arthur following his being critically injured in an accident.
In 1968 he moved to Sidney, NE. to attend school at Western Nebraska Vocational Technical school for diesel mechanics. While living in Sidney he met and then married Jean (Fairchild) Parker in 1974. Moving to the Scottsbluff area where Harold continued working as a truck driver. To this union a daughter Tina was born. Jean and Harold later divorced. He continued working as a truck driver until 2000 when he retired due to ill health. In 2002 Harold married Nancy (Hall) Olson in Lewellen making their home in the Gering and Scottsbluff area.
Survivors include his wife Nancy of Scottsbluff, son Steven (Althea) Clapp of Hunters, WA, three daughters Cheri Yoesting and Kathleen (Tom ) Dalton both of Anchorage, AK. Tina (Jeff) Thames of Arizona. Daughter in law Edna Clapp of McGrew, NE. Two step daughters Tami Kisner of Rapid City SD., Teri (Dale) Clouser of Lander, WY. One brother Ron ( Margreth) Sibal of Hot Springs, SD. Sister in Law Cathleen Sibal of Kimbal, NE. Several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by Parents, wife Beth and infant daughter Linda Rae and Step father Joseph Sibal, three brothers Frenchie Clapp, Stanley Sibal and Pat Sibal. Son Ronald Clapp and step daughter Dianna Reich
Funeral Services will be Friday, January 13, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Blake Wilkes of the Arthur Baptist officiating.
Interment will be in the Ogallala Cemetery.
