Jerry Furley

Jerry "Butch" Walter Lee Furley, 80, of Lewellen, Nebraska passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Ogallala Community Hospital in Ogallala, Nebraska. 

Jerry was born April 6, 1943, in Norfolk NE to James Roy and Beulah Marie (Angus) Furley.  He graduated from Madison Senior HS in 1961 and continued his education at Norfolk Community College. 

He was united in marriage to Beth Marie Leach in Madison NE, where they raised their ten children, Anita, Kelly, Julie, Jim, Jerri, Heather, Jodi, Jolyn, Jackie, and Jason. 

Jerry worked as a cable installer with Western Electric/AT&T/ Lucent Technologies and was eventually transferred to Thornton, Colorado, where he lived with his ex-wife, Beth, and their children.  In Late 2001 Jerry retired and moved to his home near Cedar View in Lewellen, Nebraska.

Jerry is survived by his children James (Karen) Furley, Jason (Stephanie) Furley, Anita (Jason) Teti, Kelly Kastrow, Julie Furley, Jerri (Jerrod) Chapman, Heather Davis, Jodi (Robert) Marini, Jolyn Furley-Markham, Jackie (Brian) Mann, his stepdaughter, Helen Kramer, 33 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Neldagene Furley. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beulah Furley, his brothers, Richard, Earl, Paul, and Jim, his sisters, Betty and Lois, his partner, Sandy Kramer, and two grandchildren, Jonathon Furley and Isaiah Furley. 

Visitation will take place at the Draucker Funeral Home and Chapel on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 15th,2023 at 2:00 P.M. with  Rev. Curt Magelky of the United Methodist Church of Ogallala officiating. Interment will be in the Ash Hollow Cemetery.
