Marcie Harris Obituary

Marcie Harris, age 76, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away, Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.

Marcie was born Ella Louise Horsley on February 28th, 1945, to Bertha Juanita Fout and Robert Lloyd Horsley in Portsmouth, Ohio.

She was the oldest of 10 kids. Marcie was a Truck Driver for 18 1/2 years in Florida. She moved to Colorado in 1997 and finally retired in Ogallala, Nebraska. She lived there from 2002-2014. She and her family moved to Portsmouth, Ohio from 2014-2018. She then moved back to Nebraska where she lived in North Platte for the remainder of her life. After she moved to North Platte, she met her Neighbor Robin Gibbons, who she became best friends with. Robin helped take care of Marcie for the last 2 years of her life and was a huge blessing to the family.

If there was ever a book written about her life, everything she's seen, everything she’s been through, all her adventures in life, I guarantee you it would be the greatest  book ever written. Romance, adventure, tragedy, drama, broken hearts, lost and found love, comedy, suspense, deception, thriller, mystery and heartwarming moments. Full of car chases, fist fights ,family drama, adventures, compassion, love and living life all over this country. West coast, East Coast and everywhere in between, you name it, she lived it. She was a truck driver, painter, chauffeur, waitress, babysitter, caretaker, loved dancing, fishing, country music, and writing and singing songs. She was a storyteller, Gypsy and so much more. Pretty amazing woman, one tough woman, one loving woman.

A mom, grandma and great grandma, amazing friend, sister, daughter and aunt. She would keep you on your toes, make you laugh, make you cry, drive you crazy and love you like no other could. She was a one of a kind woman with one heck of a sense of humor. There would be no way you would ever forget her once you truly met her. She could out talk you, out drink you and out love you. She loved Pepsi-Cola and absolutely without a doubt loved her family.

Marcie leaves behind her 3 daughters; Valerie Stuhr, Lisa Williams and Ashley Williams; her son, John Harris Jr. and daughter-in-law Dorothy Harris; her 3 sisters; Kathy Boggs, Connie Franklin and Bonnie Fout; a brother, Danny Fout; 5 grandchildren; Joshua Harris, Delaney Stuhr, Joe Harris, Olyvia Williams, and Nova Williams; 2 great-grandchildren; Evangeline Harris and John Henry Harris; 1 great-grandchild on the way, and a lot more family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Harris Sr., 2 of her brothers, Luther Horsley and Robert Horsley, her daughter, Rebecca Lee and her grandson, Tanner Stuhr.

The family chose cremation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
