Marvin Stokey, age 76, of Roscoe, passed away, Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his home in Roscoe.
Marvin was born on March 30, 1944 to Ed and Ida (White) Stokey in Lewellen, NE.
He attended school in Lewellen and graduated from Lewellen High School. Marvin attended Chadron State College where he played football. Marvin worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 32 years and retired in 2007. Marvin had a passion for sports and the outdoors. He loved watching all of his kids play sports. He then continued that passion with his grandchildren and great nephews. He was a Husker fan through and through. He loved to hunt deer and ducks and fish for anything that was biting.
Marvin is survived by his three children, Kara (Zac) Brashears. Gwen (Ryan) Sedlacek, and Nicholas (Emily) Stokey, his grandchildren, Brooke and Cam Brashears and Jacob Stokey, brother, Ron Stokey, and niece and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and his grandson Henry Sedlacek.
A Memorial Service will be held, Monday, January 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the New Hope Church with Pastor Eric Wait officiating.
Interment will be held at the Ash Hollow Cemetery in Lewellen, Nebraska.
