Michael James Riedel, age 60, of Ogallala entered into rest on Thursday, September 2, 2021 in Ogallala.
Mike was born on October 21, 1960 in Ogallala to Harold and Viola (Leake) Riedel. Mike attended the Ogallala Schools and graduated from Ogallala High School in 1979.
When Mike finished High School, he joined the Navy for a brief time before he returned to Ogallala.
When Mike returned to Ogallala he met and married Eileen (McCarville) in August of 1984. Mike and Eileen were blessed with five children; Amber (Jason) Grafford, and Timothy Riedel of Ogallala, Patrick (Shelby) Riedel of Kearney, Shawna Riedel of North Platte, and Kylee Riedel of Gothenburg.
During the years, Mike also lived in Colorado for awhile but eventually moved back to Ogallala again where he called home. Mike worked for the co-op in Roscoe for 26 years as an agronomist before they closed.
In Mike's free time, he loved to take up a round of golf or a game of bowling with his friends or family. Vacation was also something that Mike enjoyed, he especially liked to visit Las Vegas, and taking in all of its sites and activities while there.
Survivors include Amber (Jason) Grafford and Timothy Riedel of Ogallala, Patrick (Shelby Riedel) of Kearney, Shawna Riedel of North Platte, Kylee Riedel of Gothenburg, and his 8 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Viola June (Leake) and father Harold Riedel, two granddaughters Olivia and Peyton and one aunt Shirley Leake.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Chuck Rager of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
