Roy Irven Lunkwitz

Roy Irven Lunkwitz age, 61, of Ogallala, NE, died Wednesday, August 23rd, 2023, at The University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Ne.

Roy was born in Ogallala, NE on August 21, 1962, to his loving parents, Irven Clarence Lunkwitz and Iris Loraine Loebig. Roy lived in and attended Keystone school until 8th grade when he started school in Ogallala and graduated in 1981. 

Roy’s early years were marked with deep curiosity and an innate talent for understanding how things worked, a trait that would define his life’s passions. Roy’s inquisitive nature led him to a love for hunting, fishing, and motorcycles. These outdoor pursuits became not only hobbies but avenues for him to connect with nature and the world around him.

In his journey through life, Roy’s family remained his guiding light. He married his beloved Aimee Dawn Gage  on September 20, 1997, and they had 25 years and 11 months filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Roy’s dedication to Aimee was unwavering.

As a father, Roy embraced his role with boundless love and devotion. He leaves behind a legacy of children who were blessed to call him dad. Roy was also a cherished Papa to his grandchildren and found immense joy in watching and listening to there laughter and fun curiosity’s about life.

He is survived by his loving Wife, Aimee Lunkwitz; two sons Jacob (Allyssa) Lunkwitz and Zachary Lunkwitz and one daughter Emilee Lunkwitz. Two Brothers, Richard Harms and Wayne Lunkwitz; two Sisters Gayle (Rex) Thorne and Geraline Ashley. Three grandchildren Mitzi, Ethan, and Jaden Lunkwitz. Along with numerous Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Roy is preceded in death by both his parents and an infant sister.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 1:00 P.M.- 6:00 P.M. in Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala, NE.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 1st, 2023, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Ogallala in Ogallala, NE at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Albert Bader Officiating. 

Inurnment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. 

A memorial has been established in Roy’s memory for St. Paul’s Lutheran School.
