Shirley Anne (Bonifield) Carr

Shirley Anne Carr, age 90, of Whitman, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Ogallala Community Hospital.  
 
Shirley was born June 22, 1932 in Hyannis, NE to Forest and Georgia (Swiggart) Bonifield. She attended a rural school, south of Whitman in District 2. She then graduated from Hyannis High School in 1949.

Shirley taught at rural schools north of Whitman and Mullen, NE with the three year teaching certificate she received in high school. She also attended Scottsbluff Junior College in 1950.
 
Shirley married Ronald Carr on June 3rd, 1951 in Hyannis, making their home south of Whitman on the Carr Family Ranch. To this union, five children were born; Reagan, Ronald, Randy, Sally, and Sue.

Shirley loved her family deeply. She was an excellent wife and mother. She also had a passion for horses and ranching.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2017; and one son, Reagan Carr in 2019.
 
Shirley is survived by: two sons, Ron (Judy) Carr of Whitman, NE, Randy Carr of Whitman, NE; two daughters, Sally Monahan of Arthur, NE, Sue Albert of Arthur, NE; daughter-in-law, Vivienne Carr of Arthur, NE. 
 
Private family services will be held at a later date.
 
Memorials are suggested to the Hyannis Ambulance Rescue Squad.
